Character
Our primary impact as RCSA representatives will come not through the programs we plan or the committees we sit on but through the example we set within the student body. Our first priority as individuals and as a team is to abide in Christ and to attend to Christ’s abiding presence in/among us, keeping in step with the Spirit’s work at Regent and growing in the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Compassion
Our primary commitment as RCSA representatives is to love our community. We believe that all are made in the image of Christ and are worthy of respect, support and love. As a team, we will be attentive to the needs of all within the student body and to the needs of the council, showing concern for one another and carrying each other's burdens. We will both celebrate and grieve together, embracing our interdependence as a community.
Communication
While recognizing that different people and cultures communicate differently, our team values clear, honest communication. In meetings, over text and email, and in our interactions outside of the council, we will both make space for all to share their thoughts and take space, offering our perspectives with honesty and humility. This value is an invitation to disagree, to say hard things, to give honest feedback, and to be vulnerable when we are struggling as much as it is an invitation to listen, encourage, and affirm one another.
Creativity
While learning from the wisdom of previous councils, we welcome innovation and new ideas. The council seeks to catalyze the gifts and talents brought by each member, welcoming and encouraging the unique expressions of service to our community that each council member brings.
