Hi! I’m Ehud Lee, a second-year M.Div student. The places I’m associated with are Taipei, Shanghai, Orange County, and now Richmond (ask me about any of them!).
I came to Regent last winter with a prayer to know myself more by knowing God more, and that has unfolded both inside and outside the classroom. My experience has sparked a sense of wonder at how God designed us to learn and grow in community.
How we do that well is the question I’m carrying into this academic year, as we ground ourselves in the gospel to be humble, courageous, and hospitable.

Hello! I'm Grace and I'm entering the second year of my M.Div. As a new international student last year, the Regent community had been a huge blessing to me, and I'd love to serve this community through my role as VP Operations this year.
Whether you're at Regent for only one online course or you're staying for the long haul (like me haha), may this season together be one where we learn a little more about God, discover a little more about ourselves, and ultimately feel a little more encouraged to live as faithful people of God in this world.
That being said, I'm excited to get to know you and hear your story, and to offer support as an RCSA Exec in any way I can! :)

Hello! I’m Aberdeen, and I’m a second-year MATS student. I grew up moving around the U.S. and Europe and am enjoying my time in this beautiful corner of Canada.
I came to Regent enrolled in the Biblical Studies concentration and recently switched to Interdisciplinary, which shouldn’t have been a surprise because I love intersections: biblical studies and theology, the sciences and the arts, embodiment and transcendence. I love how Regent encourages us to explore the difference Jesus makes for all areas of our lives and studies, and I love how the diverse community here opens my eyes more to this every day.
I’m honored to represent the students to our amazing faculty and staff in my role this year, and I’m here to talk through anything, whether you’re picking between classes or concentrations, wrestling with how academic study impacts your faith, or wanting to chat about your favorite sports team (I LOVE watching sports!). My best study tip is this: take lots of walks through Pacific Spirit Park or along the beach!

Hi! My name is Emily Hogeveen, but I’ll also respond to Em or “hey you” if you see me around campus. I am a third-year MATS student concentrating in Biblical Studies.
Prior to Regent I worked with Young Life for several years which instilled in me a desire to see people getting connected and thriving in community. My hope for this year is that it will be filled with opportunities for people to deepen their relationship with God and with those around them.
Regent is so much more than an academic institution, it is a community. If you make space for it, you might just find that that greatest learning happens not in the classroom, but in conversations just outside of it.
My best advice for your time at Regent is that you will get out of this what you put into it. So, if you desire community then lean in, go on the Fall retreat, join a soup group, eat your lunch in the atrium, and be amazed by the people who surround you. Our time here is short, enjoy it!

I’m a proud Northerner from Portugal, in my 2nd year in the MATS with an Arts Concentration!
I wanted to serve as Arts MAL because Regent is a great place for artists to discern their vocation and the kind of work they want to make. I hope to create spaces for visual artists, musicians and writers that further that discernment. Regent has been a “most kindly nurse” to me, and I’m grateful that I get to give back.
I love writing, singing, trampolining and climbing!, and the two apps that help me think, Scrivener and Logseq. Always happy to chat ^^

Hi! I'm Hugo, and I'm currently a second-year MATS student. I've considered Hong Kong as my home, but I've also lived in the United States for a while that has profoundly shaped me as a student and a person! As a current international student (and previously in the U.S.), I understand living in a new country could be a challenge: Finding grocery shops that have the food ingredients from home, opening bank accounts, navigating bus routes; and perhaps more importantly, finding friends, community, and understanding how people communicate in multicultural settings!
I was first attracted to Regent because of its rich history in equipping people from all walks of life and all backgrounds for the work of the kingdom. But I also love that this is a community that makes space for the global voices to be heard, whether it is from students, faculty, or scholars we engage with in the classroom. My hope is that you too can also be a part of that voice! If you are an international student (or you're someone who wants to serve international students at Regent), come chat with me or find me in the atrium!

Hello! I’m Shayna Slingerland, a second-year MATS student. I’ve called Alberta, Virginia, Tennessee, and now Vancouver home—and I’m equally at home in a good coffee shop.
While serving youth aging out of foster care in Tennessee, God placed Regent on my heart as the next step in my journey with Him. That experience revealed the deep need for biblical discipleship and fueled my desire to know God more deeply. At Regent, I’m being intellectually stretched and spiritually formed in Christlike character.
Whether over coffee, a walk by the beach, or a study break, I'd love to get to know you and pray with you along the way!

I’m Justin Yeung, and I am a native Calgarian who grew up in a Chinese Canadian Church. I am a third year M.Div student at Regent College, and a pastoral intern at Grace Vancouver Church!
In the past two years, I’ve discovered how much more I need Jesus than I thought before, and how much the relationships we build at Regent shape our learning. As the M.Div rep, I hope to help explore how to integrate our study of Scripture and Theology with the Life we live and the Ministry we do.
I love Good Coffee and Food, and I’m happy to chat over either of those!

My name is Emmanuelle Morier; I’m currently enrolled in the MDiv program and I’m going into my second year at Regent. I’m half Swiss and half English and have lived in both countries, which has helped me appreciate the different cultures that each country has to offer.
I’m currently studying online and was so well guided in my first year that I wanted to be able to do the same for online students this year. When I’m not busy studying, I enjoy running, reading, and cooking. A study tip I would give is to stay on top of the reading required for courses; I may be speaking from experience!
The quote I would engrave on my tombstone is one from C.S. Lewis: “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.”
